Jim Beakey

Jim Beakey, Chief Knowledge Officer and Director of Research

Jim Beakey joined Commetric in 2008 as Chief Knowledge Officer and Director of Research. Jim’s position with Commetric is a direct heir to his role at H&K as Director of Communications Mapping – a function devoted to developing the application of Commetric’s proprietary Influencer Analysis methodology with H&K clients.

A Master in Psychology from Boston University and MBA Graduate in Marketing, Jim has held a number of leadership positions in media research and public relations.

Prior to joining H&K/Commetric Jim was a Director with worldwide responsibility for production and client services of Insight, the media intelligence and analytic service from Dow Jones Factiva. In 2004 Jim joined 2B as a Research Director to scale and create efficiencies within the business and to lead all client engagements.

A US citizen, Jim moved to Oslo in 2003 from San Francisco where he was Vice President of Research at technology PR firm Applied Communications. Joining Applied in 2000, Jim grew the one client media research business into a profitable unit that was sold to Context Analytics. From 1996 to 1999 Jim was the company-wide Director of Research for communication research pioneer Delahaye Group (now Cision).

Between 1991 to 1997 Jim also founded and ran communications research company Emerson Research.
